Popular Paint Color Trends from Sherwin-Williams for 2014
The Sherwin-Williams color forecast for 2014 includes Reasoned, a popular and stylish group of grays reflecting the mantra that “gray is the new black”. Intrinsic is a collection of global colors preserving individual cultural traditions inspired by handmade lace, batik and bold colors used in ethnic dyeing techniques. Curiosity motivates us to try something different, a color you may not have viewed as desirable finds its place when the right opportunity knocks. Diaphanous is a family of delicate and soft paint colors each strong enough to stand alone.
Paint Color Trends for 2014 by Sherwin-Williams®
Reasoned includes grays from the almost white “Extra White” to the almost black “Tricorn Black”. Most are neutral enough for any space and are similar to the grays made popular by Restoration Hardware. Tricorn Black is sometimes used instead of pure black on exterior shutters or entrance doors. As a foyer paint color it could be used where there is little wall space and several openings into other rooms when there seems no color will work to complement the adjoining spaces.
Classic French Gray
A bold collection of paint colors anchored with the more neutral colors of Ramie and Sawdust sure to inspire the adventurous to try a lively color in spaces in need of some excitement. These colors seek to remind us of global cultural traditions seen in handmade lace, batik and dyeing techniques. A room's walls painted with Ramie could use Georgian Bay as an accent paint color on a wall to highlight furnishings or artwork.
